Reggie Dabbs is coming to Hilsman!

Quote of the Week: "It's not what you are that holds you back, it's what you think you are not." - Denis Waitley

That's right.  Reggie Dabbs is back.  And he will be at Hilsman this Thursday.

Reggie Dabbs is a powerful motivational speaker who came to visit Hilsman students last year. We are excited to welcome him back this year. On Thursday he will share an anti-bullying message with our students. Make sure to ask your student what they learned from Reggie this week!

Saturday Success

Our Saturday Success Program will be held again November 10th here at Hilsman. The program will run from 9-12 and transportation is provided. This quarter our focus will be on Math and ELA. We have identified 75 students as excellent candidates for the Saturday Success program, which will help them be more successful in ELA and Math. Letters were sent home with students on Monday, October 29th.

Who Let the Dawgs Out?

Our artists enjoyed attending the unveiling of "Pioneer Dawg" in front of the AT&T building on Prince Avenue. We were honored that the Pioneers, a service organization whose members are current and former Southern Bell, Bellsouth, and AT&T employees, invited Hilsman to take part in this project.

Principal's Coffee

Please come join us Friday morning from 7:45-8:30 a.m. for our monthly principal's coffee in the Parent Center.

Look at Our Students

This past week our students participated in two events and represented Hilsman well. First, a group of consultants in training with the Etiquette and Leadership Institute, led by Debra Lassiter and Cindy Haygood, worked with our leaders and potential leaders on the seven characteristics of effective introductions. Here is a snapshot of our students and one of the consultants from Hong Kong:

  1. Nice start guys...I went through the website and I found that you made decent point here about business motivational speakers. Keep up the topic that everyone can choose one of the best. Thanks.
