Make this week awesome!

The Week in Review

We enjoyed reading to children during our Reading Night that was held at East Athens Community Center. Here are some photos from the event.

Mrs. Johns reads to a group of students.

This week I had the privilege of attending a luncheon honoring our Teacher of the Year, Dr. Pam Stratton, and Paraprofessional of the Year, Ms. Betty Fanning. Our district and community do a great job of recognizing these individuals for their accomplishments!

Pathways to Success Program

Plans are underway to hold PSP after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week from 3:45-5:30. We are targeting October 15th as our start date. Mr. Stan Gaddis, our Academic Support Specialist, will be the coordinator for the program. Mr. Gaddis comes to us from Redan High School where he taught math for several years. In 2010-11, he was honored as Dekalb County's Teacher of the Year. Prior to working in Dekalb, Mr. Gaddis consulted as a school improvement specialist in math for the New Orleans area school systems. We are thrilled to have Mr. Gaddis' leadership and content expertise on our team. Stay tuned for more information that will be coming your way in the next couple of weeks.

Our Cedar C-Team Football team will play Thomson this week at home. Game starts at 5:30.
